Anthony’s book is poignant. He is one of the pioneer patients who successfully underwent a non-ablative stem cell transplant for mantle cell lymphoma. Despite having failed multiple other therapies his case provided proof of principal that donor cells could induce long-term remission.

Sergio Giralt M.D. - Professor of Medicine MD Anderson Cancer Center

Some people write about cancer but have never experienced it. Many experience it but cannot write about it. This is the story of a real survivor. I am proud to call Anthony Herrera my friend.

Willie Nelson - Musician

Mr. Herrera’s journey is an important one. The fact that we effectively treated his aggressive, usually lethal lymphoma by manipulating his new immune system is proof of principlethat should be explored and exploited further.

Ira Braunschweig, M.D. Director, Bone Marrow Transplantation
The Albert Einstein College of Medicine - Bronx, N.Y.

Anthony Herrera’s story is not only courageous and intensely moving…he has turned it into a powerful book which will surely inspire and help many, many people.

Ali MacGraw - Actress

Anthony's story of his personal cancer war and triumph is a tale so gripping that you will not put it down, whether you have had cancer or not!

Richard Howe, Ph.D.
Retired President of Pennzoil Company

It is appropriate that one of Mr. Herrera’s inspirations in his battle with cancer is the classic western, The Searchers. Endurance and perseverance despite disappointment, loss, and hardship, are common themes in the movie and Mr. Herrera’s journey, and are essential to the uplifting endings of both stories.

Dr. Alan Valentine Psychiatrist - MD Anderson Cancer Center

In October of 2005 Anthony testified
for Senator Arlen Specter on the importance
of Federal Government's support of stem cell research.

After an autologus bone marrow transplant in August 1997, I relapsed 18 months later. I then received a donor transplant from my brother John at MDAnderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas that made history using a new immune system to fight the disease . . .

I now have hope for a cancer free life.
